Rare Whale Markings in Black Walnut...

See my other flute when you have a chance guys!!! :))

Black Walnut flute is keyed to LOW Dm... This MEGA-BORE weighs in @ approx 26" in length, a Giant with a very Ancient DEEP Crystal Clear beautiful voice!!! But do not worry about the size my friends, for this is a Swampfox sideblown flute which almost anyone could play. Features my dished finger holes and on this particular flute I have added angled slots which fit your fingers perfectly!!! This may have been done before, but I have never seen it with my own eyes!

Absolutely the best mouthpiece money can buy! Should someone decide to become the Keeper of this one, you will Love it all of your days!!! 100% comfort in every way!!! Flute is designed to lay on your left shoulder during play and as I have said, the finger slots are located at the precise angle of which the fingers lie on the instrument's barrel.

Per the Indian arts and crafts board I must state the following: Friends, you are viewing an Authentic Swampfox Creation carrying the Swampfox trademark & I am the sole maker of these flutes and totems. From the time I was 7 years old I knew I would build the flutes. They are Native Inspired thru my Grandmother's people of the Muskogee Creek Nation, but more than that, they are inspired thru the Great Creator of all living things. Many times as I stand before the wood, I have no idea what the flute nor its totem will turn out to be. Sometimes in life we must ask in earnest prayer for the answers, even to the smallest of things. As I pray for Creator's wisdom and not my own, it becomes clear in my mind what is meant for these flutes, and it is a powerful presence when this Creator's wisdom moves. If it is important for you to purchase a flute from an enrolled tribal member, it is my prayer that you find this flute you are seeking. Remember, according to the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, {an act in place to protect the consumer from purchasing items that are not 100% AUTHENTIC NATIVE AMERICAN MADE}, should even the slightest part of an instrument, or craft be created by a Non-Indian person, the instrument / craft CANNOT Legally be sold as "Native American made", including ANY art work in any shape, form, or fashion. Should a non-native person work a single part of the instrument, it cannot be sold as "Authentic Indian made." For a first criminal offense, an individual is fined not more than $250,000 and/or jailed not more than 5 years; subsequent violations are not more than $1,000,000 and/or 15 years. Good night!!!!!! A person could make a lot of flutes in 5 years!!! :))

Now this is the wonderful thing about this Giant flute: Normally in a flute of this size, it takes a great amount of air flow to keep the flute in song...More than most people can sustain...I have remedied this problem, and this flute will play with the SLIGHTEST breath, much similar to a Swampfox G#, ( a medium sized flute)... Tuned using Virtual Strobe to absolute perfection at 72 degrees F. When I tune these flutes I am looking down the barrel at three different style tuners! UNBELIEVABLE CLEAR Concert Quality Voice, money back guarantee!!! Hear this AWESOME flute for yourself @ Swampfoxflutescom, or send me an email, even if you only want to listen........ :))

Let us begin...

This flute again honors the last whale - a mysterious whale of the Northern Pacific and another of which I'm sure my eyes will never see again in this lifetime. I have much time in this flute and it is welcome to stay with me as long as it wishes.

Whales are mammals - They are just like us in many ways & they enjoy human company!

A Blue Whale's heart alone is as large as a small car!!! It is the largest known animal in Earth's history! Fifty people could stand on it's tounge and Blues can grow over 100 feet in length!!! The new born calf is approx 25 feet long, weighing more than a full grown elephant, and drinks 50 gallons of milk each day! Almost as much as Baby Creesong! :))

Some of you may remember the story which took place in August of 2002:

A whale watch ship was ready to cast off from Boothbay Harbor. A full boat of tourist anxious to see a pod of whales, was aboard. The experienced captain piloted his ship out toward the whales' feeding grounds, when just outside the harbor an adult whale swam alongside the ship for a few moments, getting everyone's attention. The whale then veered off to the west away from the ship.

The Captain continued on his course, thinking that they were apt to see many more whales at their feeding grounds. Then, the same whale came back to swim alongside the ship again, veering off after only a few minutes.

Finally, the third time the whale came along side the ship and then headed west, the captain decided to follow it.

This whale was trying to communicate my Friends!

After only a few miles of travel they came upon a fixed fishing net with two baby whales tangled up in it!

The captain commanded the crew to launch the lifeboat and cut the whales free. Luckily, baby whales are less dangerous to get close to than adult whales, so they were able to cut them free. For the rest of the cruise that day the mother and baby whales swam alongside the ship, breaching and blowing as they played. When the ship had to return to the harbor the whales remained with their pod.

Unfortunately, marine officials learned of this interference with fishing gear and later arrested the captain of that ship.

This made the local news, which created enough public outrage that the captain was released with a ten dollar fine. :))

Whales are not only the largest animals on Earth, they are also the loudest!!! Their songs can reach 185 decibels - much louder than a jet aircraft - and can travel for hundreds of miles underwater!

Gray whales can travel over 12,500 miles per year! They have the longest seasonal migration of any of the whales.

A Humpback's complex songs can last for more than 30 minutes! They are very intelligent and have excellant memories which helps them return to feeding areas and remember migration patterns.

Just as Native Americans used Love Flutes in courtship, the Humpback sings a long sequence to a passing female, then escorts her as they swim along - soon diving deep into the ocean to mate.

It was the year 2004...

A network of hydrophones listening for the engines of nuclear submarines tracked the heart-wrenching calls of a mysterious whale swimming patiently and unquited thru the deep cold waters of the Northern Pacific.

The acoustic network regularly picks up whale calls, mostly Blue, Fin, and Humpback whales whos eerie songs is said to travel thousands of miles along the density seam of thermal layers, but this time something was very different.

The sound was not the pitch for a Fin or Blue, and was too monotonous for a Humpback. They had NEVER heard a sound like this before!!!

This mystery whale called regularly at 52 hertz - a deep voice of a very old whale.

Experts say he swims alone, calling ceaselessly for someone such as himself.

Surely the last of an unknown species.

Peter Aleshire could not have said it any better in his words below:

Think of it as layering of irony.

First we drive the Great whales to the Brink of extinction, mostly to make trifling things we could easily do without.

Next, we make nuclear submarines capable of exterminating our own species and so must scatter seafloor with hydrophones to track our own doom.

Then we use that intently listening network to track the journey of this single whale.

And finally, we read of his lonely journey and feel an ach of empathy.

So now the two mysteries swim alongside one another, the plight of the last whale and our love for the very thing we have destroyed.

And it leaves me to wonder once more that we human beings are both heart-long and headstrong - so perfectly balanced always between love and fear, destruction and creation.

If you are the Keeper of this flute, you are the Keeper of a whale's spirit. For generations to come, he will never let you down.

Love & Blessings to you all,

Brother Fox
