Friends, I will be in the Cascade Mountian Range photographing a flute during this ebay listing. Should you need to contact me, please do so thru ebay as I will try to visit a library now and then which has computor access... This flute along with another will be sent out Priority Mail at auction close should anyone decide to become the Keeper of this authentic Swampfox production.

Most Beautiful Giant Black Walnut flute you will ever find is keyed to LOW Bm with 1.25" bore, my dished finger holes, the most comfortable mouthpieceknown to man, & concert quality beyond belief. This is a very large flute so I will give the measurements from mouthpc to finger holes.... From m. piece to first set of holes is 15" with less than 3" finger spread, from m. pc to second set of holes is 21.5" with less than 3" finger spread. This flute is recommended for someone with med. large to large hands.

Per the Indian arts and crafts board I must state the following: Friends, you are viewing an Authentic Swampfox creation carrying the Swampfox trademark & I am the sole maker of this flute and totem. These flutes are native inspired thru my Grandmother's people. From the time I was 7 years old I new I would build the flutes. If it is important for you to purchase a flute from an enrolled tribal member living on reseration, it is my prayer that you find this flute you are seeking. Remember, according to the Indian arts and crafts act, should even the slightest part of an instrument be created by a Non-Indian person, the instrument cannot Legally be sold as "Native American made", including any art work in any shape, form, or fashion. For a first criminal offense, an individual is fined not more than $250,000 and/or jailed not more than 5 years; subsequent violations are not more than $1,000,000 and/or 15 years. Good night!!!!!! A person could make a lot of flutes in 5 years!!! :))

Retail $2,100.00

Although new, "Nixkamich" has traveled with me thru the Cypress Swamps and has played to creatures of all sorts including a 12 foot alligator who seemed to enjoy the deep crystal clear voice! Weather you are standing before the multitudes, recording tracks, or playing in the wilderness, this one will NEVER let you down! I have enjoyed every moment of it's creation & thank the One Creator for his insight and assistance each passing day. Many thanks to our dog Snowfox. He never seems to mind traveling with me thru the most rugged terrain whether mountains or waterways - My best friend!

Also please forgive me for all the misspelled words. These flutes are said to be among the best in the nation, but I never said I could spell correctly. :))

As this flute was in creation, I wondered what totem would be given for such an Awesome flute. The answer came quickly! One day Karen called me inside for lunch, and I passed by the bay windows in our home to wash my hands.

I noticed something black jumping up and down at a range of approx 100 yards, which grabbed my attention! As I walked closer to the windows, I saw it was a large Raven trying to secure a meal for his young!! Running for my binoculars, I zoomed in to see what all the fuss was about with this bird.

There in the grass was a small snake and it was striking at the Raven as the bird tried to capture it. Now I know to some this may not be exciting at all, but being an outdoorsman, I was into this Raven - Snake fight! :)) Man was it exciting!!!

The Raven jumped many, many times avoiding the fangs of the small snake! This went on for so long that Karen was growing impatient about eating lunch. What in the world? Surely she knows the importance of this happening taking place??? hehee!

The worst part is that my video camera was within 20 ft of reach, yet I did not even think of filming the event!!

At last the Raven won the battle and flew off with the snake in it's large bill.

Ravens can survive almost anywhere and this flute is for someone who loves nature and the outdoors - the one who loves life.

These birds can stand very hot weather and their imperviousness to cold may be the reason's for the Raven's popularity in the far north.

Sit back and let me tell you the true story of a commercial fisherman who once explained that he truly believed ravens had powers of immortality!

His faith was built from an experience he had years ago when he was fishing in a deserted inlet somewhere in the southeast archipelago. This fisherman decided to tied off to an abandonded fish cannery and go exploring.

Upon entering one of the buildings, this fisherman began pushing thru piles of garbage working his way to the other side of the room. When he reached the other side he came across an old floor safe with the door cracked slightly open. With the prospect of discovering enough money to pay off the loan on his troller, the fisherman began prying open the safe!

Money was not to be found. Instead, a dirty, thin, starving - but living Raven jumped out of the safe, made it his way across the room, exited the building, and flew away!!!

Ravens hold a special place in the minds of Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest which is relatively well known and understood to be of profound significance. They have seen Raven as Creator of the world and the bringer of light. Even today, there are many myths of the Eskimo of Raven's role in creation. However, what is probably little known to most people , is the role Raven has played in folklore and religion throughout the world.

Even in God's word, the Raven has played an important role in many situations.

Quoting Genesis, "Noah opened a porthole and released a raven that flew back and forth until the earth was dry."

My Brothers and Sisters, I hope to have the sound playing for this flute very soon on my website and possibly here on ebay.

Much Love to All!

Brother Fox
