Per the Indian arts and crafts board I must state the following: Friends, you are viewing an Authentic Swampfox Creation carrying the Swampfox trademark & I am the sole maker of these flutes and totems. From the time I was 7 years old I knew I would build the flutes. They are Native Inspired thru my Grandmother's people of the Muskogee Creek Nation, but more than that, they are inspired thru the Great Creator of all living things. Many times as I stand before the wood, I have no idea what the flute nor its totem will turn out to be. Sometimes in life we must ask in earnest prayer for the answers, even to the smallest of things. As I pray for Creator's wisdom and not my own, it becomes clear in my mind what is meant for these flutes, and it is a powerful presence when this Creator's wisdom moves. If it is important for you to purchase a flute from an enrolled tribal member, it is my prayer that you find this flute you are seeking. Remember, according to the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, {an act in place to protect the consumer from purchasing items that are not 100% AUTHENTIC NATIVE AMERICAN MADE}, should even the slightest part of an instrument, or craft be created by a Non-Indian person, the instrument / craft CANNOT Legally be sold as "Native American made", including ANY art work in any shape, form, or fashion. Should a non-native person work a single part of the instrument, it cannot be sold as "Authentic Indian made." For a first criminal offense, an individual is fined not more than $250,000 and/or jailed not more than 5 years; subsequent violations are not more than $1,000,000 and/or 15 years. Good night!!!!!! A person could make a lot of flutes in 5 years!!! :))

Brothers and Sisters,

Only weeks ago our dog Snowfox crossed the river of life. I continue to make arrowheads / points from the bones he delivered to me thru his short lifetime. He was a master at finding and retrieving them to me unharmed. This particular bone measured 14 inches in length and approx 6 inches at it's largest dia.. Whatever it was alive, it was LARGE!!!

The bone was found by Snowfox near the Ga Flint River basin where Bear Creek enters from the North direction. Only 1/8 mile from the area where the old duck hunters swear they were stalked by a mountain lion some years ago. I have shown this bone to local natives who believe it is from a Black Bear, but I am not a bone expert, and personally do not know what this giant creature could have been. I plan to machine a few totems now and then using the bones & antlers Snowfox has found and brought to me during his short lifetime. Stay tuned! :))

I do want to say that my hat is off to the people of ancient times!!! Even with the most modern machinery, it is quite a task to make a bone point / arrowhead!!! I do not know how they could have carved such a hard material years ago and with such perfection! :))

Should someone decide to become the Keeper, you will discover a huge voice locked inside this flute the moment it arrives at your door. Creator has sent His blessing and the flute has amazed me from the start!!!

Once again, I will post the story of snowfox for those who may not have read about him:

Still today I miss that ole dog!!! I didn't realize until he was gone just how much he meant to me. This sacred flute may be for the one who has lost someone they Loved with all of their heart!

Behind the scenes, this descendant of the wolf did more to help me build flutes than anyone will ever know. At times just being in the shop by my side was all I needed. He has retrieved feathers, bones, antlers, wood, and many other things that I wish he had not found! :))

Just a few weeks ago he unknowingly save the life of a duck! This bird was flapping in the water trying to escape the jaws of a snapping turtle. Snowfox swam out into the swamp {actually trying to retrieve the duck} and somehow caused the turtle to release it's grip. The duck flew away unharmed.

Now even though his good heavily outweighed the bad, he did happen to cause a little trouble as a pup! Many times Karen would be missing shoes, (he never bothered mine,,, must have been the bad smell about hers he liked??) hehehee...

Another incident happened which made me angry with him...... I had just finished a couple of totems - maybe had two hours in them, and so I walked out of the shop leaving Snowfox inside. When I returned only seconds later, the totems were only tiny pieces on the floor, and the dog was pretending to be asleep as if nothing wrong had just happened!!!!

I have never seen a dog that could jump as high and far in the air when chasing a squirrel or rabbit. He even jumped up into a tree climbing up a few limbs after a squirrel the week before he died. Crazy dog almost broke his leg!!!

At times he asked no higher priviledge than that of accompanying me on the many journeys throughout Georgia Swamplands in search of a totem or photographing a flute for you. Nights he has slept on the cold ground in a swamp with a winter wind blowing, just to be by my side giving protection - guarding against danger and ready to fight any enemy.

When I once cut my hand, it was him who licked the wound. Snowfox was persistent in his love as the sun in it's journey through the heavens.

Our home is a long way from the country road, but whenever Snowfox was near this road he had a bad habit! If a car came by, he would give chase as if it were another dog. In the end this would be a death sentence.

While I was bush hogging a large field, Snowfox ran under a bob-wire fence, and was struck by the truck he was chasing. I jumped from the tractor running to him as fast as I could. With his head in my lap, his golden eyes slowly looked up from the corners and into mine. With this gesture he was being unselfish right to the end.

Snowfox had made a fatal mistake and I could clearly see he was trying to say he was sorry.

It would be over soon as I sat on the side of the road with him in his last moments. Snowfox turned cold in my arms and entered a breathless eternal sleep. I was unprepared for the flood of tears and grief I felt at his death. He was like one of my children, in fact, he was one of them.

A man's best friend is truly his dog.

Blessings to you all,

Brother Fox
