Meaning Spirit Bear or White Bear.

A few have asked for another Spirit Bear, so to be fair I will list the flute here and hope it finds it's place among the people. These totems are a gift from Creator thru Dr. Bill Clark. Thank you Sir!

When a Doctor out of Canada emailed telling of a White Spirit Bear, & that I should carve one for a flute, I must admit, I thought maybe he had been drinking that Fire Water, and had a vision of some sort! hehee! But when he sent the book showing all of the photos and stories, I was then a believer in this mystical, magnificent creature! Although little known and seldom seen, these Bears truly exist, and have long been known to the Native Peoples of the Northwest coast!!!

Yes, along the rugged coast of B.C. Canada lives a population of Rare White "Spirit Bears." Some say they have been in existence for 10,000 years!

Traveling through this land, I asked the people there about this Legendary Ghost Spirit Bear.

As legend has it, "Raven" - referring to the Creator of the earth - came down and turned the world green, but as a reminder of a time when all was white with ice and snow, He turned every 10th black bear white! These are not albinos, but are actually a sub-species of the American black bear.

There are many creatures living among these white bears including foxes, eagles, and salmon! It is also said that they are very lovable gentle animals.

Some say this magical Spirit Bear is one of the most remarkable and rare animals alive! The Native North Americans show much affection thru stories and folklore to these creatures. Some called them "bear people" because of their ability to walk in an upright position for short distances!

I never thought I would carve this bear for a flute, but it seemed that everywhere I went after hearing of these bears, I would be given a sign.

On a clear morning with very few puffy white clouds in the sky, there appeared the perfect shape of a Spirit Bear as I looked into the Eastern direction. Not long after this event, we were in a large book store. I walked to the center of what seemed to be well over 5,000 books, reached down and picked up a book while talking to my children. I did not even know what I was holding, yet when I opened it, I realized it was yet another "Spirit Bear" publication, the only one in the entire shop!

This flute is to honor the Spirit Bears and the people who have a connection to them. It also honors Kodie, who was injured by a car years ago. The local people spoke well of him saying he was a very friendly bear. They told how he had died in 1994 and how he was now a spirit bear in the true meaning of the word.

When this flute makes it way to you, and it will very soon, I ask that some night out in the wilderness, please play a flute prayer for the rare Moksgm'ol - White bear - That they may live in peace forever just as Raven has promised to these creatures in the Ancient rain forest. . And as you hear the haunting deep sound, also remember the 800 year old sitka spruce - the untouched rainforest, the young bears learning how to fish from the older bears, the hibernation, the nature of life itself, & the Creator Who gives this life, the Native Elders of 10,000 years ........... If you listen close in this future night to come, you may even hear their voices in a flute called "Matoskah."

I am Swampfox, I am your Brother.
