SKY CROSSER

Swampfox Rare HAWK Micro Native American Flute high Bm

Origin:

It was late in the evening when the lone raven flew over making his death cry just as they sometimes do! No one gave the erie sound a second thought, but I remember pausing and watching until the bird was only a dot in the dark grey sky.

My oldest Son was out playing and came across something terrible the next morning. He ran all the way home to ask me to come and take a look.

Together we went to see this thing he had found.

There at the waters edge was the wing of a Red Shoulder. Other feathers were scattered about the grass as well.

Staring into what was once a beautiful bird of prey, my Son asked the question, "What do you think could have done this my Father?"

Picking up a single feather which was unlike all the rest, I said to him, "There is but one thing that lives that could have taken the life of this Hawk, and it is the "Tiger of the Woods", the Great Horned Owl!!!

Nothing, not even a Hawk, is safe in the night when the Tiger of the Woods is on the prowl - A case where the predator has become the prey.

I have honored this Hawk Brother with a totem of the past, very old and burned in the Sacred Fire - A totem of the Pow Wow circuit, this Hawk silhouette sitting on a red Cedar flute truly brings back good memories with it's wonderful fragrant smell and a voice so loud and clear, even I am amazed! My Father said it sounds like this flute has a built in echo, for sure, there is something Sacred about this one!

This very day the Hawks mate circled high overhead screaming and searching, but there is no answer my friends, for the great falcon has flown into the sky, and for his passage, I have given him the name, "Sky Crosser."
